What is DNS?

It’s an acronym for Domain Name System. It is a human readable name system for the Internet such as domain of websites (ex: google.ca, amazon.com). “DNS translates domain names to IP addresses so browsers can load Internet resources. Each device connected to the Internet has a unique IP address which other machines use to find the device.”

With DNS servers, people do not need to remember long IP addresses and instead use domain names.
